Emerald Market Report – Prime & Store Sale 8/10/15

2900 cattle were yarded today at Emeralds Prime and Store Cattle Sale. Prices eased for most descriptions. Cows felt the biggest loss with some back as much as 20 to 30 cents per kg. Bullocks were also easier, feeder steers lost ground with a 10% drop.

Weaner Steers remained firm, heavier heifers to slaughter down 10c/kg. Feeder Heifers were down 10 cents as well. Weaner Heifers were presented to a smaller panel of Buyers and also lost ground on last week’s sale.

 

Sale Highlights: Jason & Racheal Leitch, “Manalee”, Springsure sold grain assisted EU Heifers to make 271.2c/kg for 403kg to return$1093 per head. Charles Curran, “Bluegrass Plains”, Capella sold grain assisted Heifers to realize 281.2c/kg to return$1045 per head. His heavy Heifers made 274.2 for 422kg to return $1157 per head. Mitch & Jackie Stranks, “Budgawillie”, The Willows sold Brahman Cross Weaner Steers to 307 cents, weighing 187kg and returning $575 per head. Jeff and Raelea Holzwart, “Kensington”, Yamala sold Angus Heifers to 271 cents to return $1540.00 per head. Dozer and Chyanne Louden, “Karinda”, Springsure sold Brahman Cross Heifers to 264 cents weighing 470kg returning $1242.00. Peter Cook & Family, “Beaumont”, Alpha sold Droughtmaster Cross Steers to 302c/kg to weigh 312kg and gross $945.00 per head. Andrew and Donna Donaldson, “Moonstone”, Alpha sold Brahman Cross Steers to 304.2c/kg to weigh 501kg and gross $1524 per head. Wayne and Janelle Gakowski, “Karvella West”, Emerald sold Droughtmaster Cross Steers to 312 c/kg to weigh 406kg and gross $1268 per head. Richard and Robert Lewis, “Wilga Downs”, Emerald sold Droughtmaster Cows to 256c/kg to weigh 620kg and gross $1588 per head. Waminda Pty Ltd, Clermont sold Santa No 3 Feeder Steers for 304 cents weighing 448kg for $1355.00. Arcturus Downs, Springsure sold No 4 Droughtmaster Steers for 307 cents weighing 382kg for $1175. The Heifer portion made 282 cents weighing 337kg to return $950. Robinson & Randles, “Yellowhood”, Capella sold Euro Cross Cows for 253 cents weighing 535kg for $1354. Neil & Sharon King, “Banrock”, The Willows sold No 4 Brangus Steers for 306 cents weighing 440kg for $1347. The Skinner Family, “Emu Plains”, Springsure sold a line of Angus/Santa Cross No 3 Prime Heifers to top at 264.2c/kg and weigh 528kg for$1395 per head. Ron & Sandra Booker, “Rons Retreat”, Yamala sold Droughtmaster Weaner Steers to make 297c/kg to weigh 227kg for$674 per head. B H Holdings, “Soldier Plains”, Theodore sold Euro Cross Feeder Steers to top at 311.2 c/kg weighing 430kg and $1338 per head. They also had a large line of Euro Cross Feeder Heifers which topped at 295.2c/kg and weigh 334kgs and $987 per head.
